Misleading unemployment numbers

Government reports on employment can be very misleading.  Often in stating employment statistics, they do not explain that many (up to 40%) of these jobs are part-time lacking essential employee benefits, of which some may not become permanent. They also include temporary job positions, many of which are minimum wage.  Many people have dropped out of the job search completely, skewing the statistics.  Without understanding all of the factors involved, these figures can be subject to misrepresentation.
