Average American Worker
According to a recent Associated Press report, CEOs got an average $800,000 pay raise in 2018, bringing annual pay for CEOs with salary, stocks and compensation at S&P 500 companies to a medium of twelve million dollars. The survey disclosed that it would take 158 years for the typical employees at most big companies to match what their CEO acquired in that single year. While the public is generally outraged at the pay discrepancy, corporations seem insensitive to the issue. Wall Street brokers and conservative Republicans call this "capitalism."
